Appliances & Gas

When it comes to outfitting your caravan or motorhome with the best appliances, understanding your household’s specific needs is crucial. Different families require different functionalities and at the core of this decision lies the question: what appliances will truly enhance my camping experience? Take the time to evaluate your daily routines and consider how new appliances may help streamline your tasks.

We have a look at Air Fryers, Heaters and the Kitchen section to see which is best and why.

Energy Efficiency Matters

One of the most significant factors to consider when selecting appliances is energy efficiency. Investing in energy-efficient appliances not only contributes to a more sustainable van life, but it also saves money in the long run. Look for the Energy Star label on appliances, as this designation signifies lower energy consumption without sacrificing functionality.

Maintenance and Longevity

Lastly, the longevity and maintenance of your appliances should play a pivotal role in your decision-making process. Opt for brands known for durability and customer satisfaction. Regular upkeep is also key—understanding how to maintain your appliances will ensure they serve you effectively for years to come. Remember, purchasing appliances is an investment in your van’s comfort and efficiency.

  • Panoramic Electric Log Stove Effect Heater

The Panoramic electric log stove effect heater fills your room with glowing warmth. With a low and high setting available, it makes this heater very economical and versatile. The feedback received back from this heater is summed up in one of the recent reviews: “heating my home is extremely difficult and we are always cold. It is amazing the amount of heat it gives off for the size of it. The fake flame light adds a wonderfully cosy touch. I am absolutely thrilled”

  • Sandwich Waffle Panini Toaster Oteck 3 in 1 Grill Snack Maker

I have to be honest and say that whilst toasted sandwich makers are quick and produce tasty food, they can be a bit “faddy” when you use them off and on. However, this one is a sandwich toaster, waffle and panini maker as well. That should make it more popular all year round!

  • Air Fryer 3.5 Litre 1450 Watt Oil Free Otek AF351 Compact Cooker

If you have never used an air fryer yet, you will be amazed at how efficiently it operates. It will cook your food quickly and even better than normal ovens or oil fryers. • Small Ceramic Heater

I bought one of these small electric ceramic heaters for our RV and it sits on the top step at the front of the van and it heats the lounge area, as well as the rest of the van. The heater has 2 heat settings which is handy to have. There is an 850 watts…

  • Gas Bottle Refillable LPG Tank 11 kg 27 Litres

This will save you a fortune on lpg gas bottles! Yes, there is a fairly large financial outlay, but it will pay for itself the more you use it. This is not just the refillable tank, but includes everything you need to operate a legal refillable lpg cylinder with an external fill up point, which most filling stations now insist on having. With fuel prices increasing all of the time, the cost of filling this size of tank is about a quarter of the price of normal gas bottles to buy.

  • 2-in-1 Portable Washing Machine Single Tub Mini Washer and Spin Dryer

Considering the neat size of this washing machine and spin dryer, it really carries out these functions very well. If you are away from washing and laundry facilities, it is worth having one of these in your garage. You could also keep it stored in your shower if you are stuck for space. It washes well and spins acceptably and we use it when we are away on the road.

  • Hyundai Air Compressor 118psi

You might wonder why an air compressor is listed on this website? I have one of these to keep the tyres on my RV inflated to the correct pressure. I bought a smaller car air compressor that said it would do the job, but it was too small and couldn’t reach the 86 psi I needed. You might think this is “overkill” for pumping up a few tyres every now and again, but it is truely worth it and does so much more as well. Designed for DIY and trade applications the HY5508 silenced oil free air compressor is ideal for spray-painting, blowing away dirt and dust, nailing, inflating tyres & inflatables or operating air tools. Before I got this air compressor, I used to take the RV to the local tyre depot to get them to check the 6 tyre pressures. I always handed the guy £5 for his trouble, even though he said they did this for free. I could nearly always see the dread on his face each time I pulled up, which is why I invested in this compressor. Add up all of those fivers and it more than pays for itself!
